Your choice of a senior living community is as individual as you are. There is no clear-cut, step-by-step template that tells you exactly when it is time to consider a senior living community, whether that be an independent living community, assisted living community or nursing home. However, you will notice the signs that some assistance is needed, such as inability to manage a home’s upkeep, assistance with preparing meals and eating at appropriate times, medication management, loneliness, and other issues.
Change can be challenging for anyone and everyone copes with it differently. It may take a few days to feel settled in to your new home, or a bit longer. The Arbor will help you or your loved one get there. The keys to success are preparation, a positive attitude, patience and understanding, and a strong support network. Rest assured that our staff is experienced, ready and willing to assist with the process. Don’t be shy about asking questions or seeking assistance. We will make the move a positive experience, and someone will be there each step along the way -whether it be our compassionate staff, or your new friends and neighbors.
We will ask you to walk us through a day in your life. Your apartment will be personalized with your favorite chair or the same bedside reading lamp from your old home. You don’t need new furniture – bring your favorite things to The Arbor! Enjoy gardening? We will make sure you have your own gardening table. We encourage you to make a memory album of meaningful pictures so that we may add to it in your new home.
Our promise to you – you will feel welcome and at home at The Arbor.
